Module Seven
In Module 7 students explore the possibilities of American block patchwork techniques using basic and distorted grids and learn how to further embellish their work with machine quilting.
Left: Charlene has carefully considered the placement of colour in this block to ensure that the star design really glows.
Above: Marianne has experimented with a range of colourways before piecing her Sister's Choice block, left.

Pat was inspired by this postcard of Gaudi architecture, above to create this piece on the right. Transfer printing and free machine quilting are used in combination.

Above Debra has been practising her free machine quilting skills.
Above: Chris has machine quilted an earlier sample.

Left: Lindsey's Sister's Choice block
Above: Debra's version looks quite different.
Above: Elisabeth has used the block Sister's Choice and arranged the colours
to suggest a flower. Above right: Here is Elisabeth's version of Sister's Choice repeated as it would be in a quilt. We think it makes a lovely design!
Above: Christa has used a twin needle to quilt this sample from earlier in the course. Above right: Elisabeth practising her free machine quilting technique.
Above Marjolein's Sister's choice uses a bold combination of colours. Above right: Christa's version has a 3D feel.
There is still lots more to see so why not take a look at Module 8?
