In Module 3 students work from image sources to produce paper piecing samples with a difference.
Lorraine worked from the photographic source above right to create this lovely set of work using pieced hexagons.

Hazel has arranged the hexagons in her shadow appliqué sample to suggest falling autumn leaves - we think it works really well.

Deborah selected an unusual scene of penguins to study for colour information for a landscape project.
Right: Ivy has analysed this photo to identify the colours for use in her own work.
Above and right: Ivy translated the colour information from her source photo to these paper piecing samples using both regular and irregular hexagons.
Left: Mabel has chosen a challenging starting point for her sample of curved piecing. We think it has worked brilliantly!

Above and below: Mabel's research led her to produce these miniature kimono's. There are ten of them in total and each is only 5" high! Each kimono incorporates a different technique. We think they are incredible!

Left, Above left and right: Fiona has studied the work of contemporary artist Jutta Faulds as part of her research. She has produced this lovely sample directly inspired by the artists own work. Fiona felt that by sticking very closely to the original she would learn the most!
