Dorothy Eggleton

Dorothy chose to work with a still life theme for her final quilt using transfer printing. She was able to incorporate some drawing and painting from another class into her development work for the quilt.

The piece is wholecloth with machine quilting.

Right: Each student is required to make an item for an interior. Dorothy chose to make a cushion. It was inspired by the landscape photograph on the left.

The cushion was embellished with some hand embroidery and also featured areas of slashing to suggest ploughed lines in the fields shown in her source photograph.

Right: Dorothy's accessory assessment piece was this bag made to carry her sewing essentials. It features stencilling using fabric paints on to hand dyed cotton and close lines of machine quilting.
