At the conclusion of our Online 7822 Patchwork and Quilting Course, students who have satisfied all the syllabus requirements are awarded a certificate by the awarding body, City & Guilds of London. We would like to offer our congratulations too!

Lorraine's final quilt for the course was this wall hanging using a block patchwork design of leaves. Grading the colour across from block to block using hand dyed fabrics has created a lovely painterly result. Hand pieced and densely hand quilted.

Above: Lorraine's first assessment piece was this beautiful cushion. Using the leaf motif on one side it makes an ideal companion piece to the wallhanging. The cushion uses a Log Cabin design on one side with shadow applique leaves on the other.
Above: A detail of the cushion showing the neat piped edge in dark green that finishes the cushion. The dense quilting is all by hand and stipples the white background areas perfectly. the design wa created by stencilling leaves onto fabric with Markal and then trapping them under a layer of fine fabric before quilting.
