At the conclusion of our Online 7922 Patchwork and Quilting course, students who have satisfied all the syllabus requirements are awarded a certificate by the awarding body, City & Guilds of London. We would like to offer our congratulations too!

Pat Kumicich

Pat’s final assessment piece for the course is this most engaging and striking quilt. She has used appliqué and quilting with fabric painting, drawing and digital printing for the background. she has cleverly combined patterned fabrics in a confident composition.
Right: This piece is inspired by a poem about Queen Anne’s Lace, the foamy roadside plant seen in spring, appliqué, fabric manipulation and digital printing all work together to make this delightful hanging.
One of the course activities suggests recycling an existing textile such as a garment to make something new. For her Accessory assessment Pat painted, stencilled and manipulated her recycled cloth.

For her first assessment item, a container, Pat created this box inspired by the Kapoor sculpture in Chicago. Pieced and quilted with added embellishments.
