At the conclusion of our Online 7802/7822 Patchwork and Quilting Course, students who have satisfied all the syllabus requirements are awarded a certificate by the awarding body, City & Guilds of London. We would like to offer our congratulations too!

Kitty Johnstone

'Chains of Enchantment' was inspired by Tennyson's Lady of Shallot.

Kitty's lovely quilt features chains of hand quilting and 3Dimensional flower shapes set into some of the seams.

Kitty's research for her final quilt design was very extensive. Some of the ideas and inspirations from her storyboard are shown here on the right.

Kitty chose to design and make a wallhanging of a cityscape for a modern townhouse location.

Very early colour studies and samples of hand dyeing from the first Module show a sensitive approach to the use of colour that convinced us Kitty's later work would be well worth waiting for!

Simple repeat prints made using different background fabric colours and pattern arrangements.

An interesting print unit becomes an attractive motif for appliqué.

Kitty has also completed 7823-08 Creative Sketchbooks. Click HERE to see her exhibition.
