At the conclusion of our Online 7802/7822 Patchwork and Quilting Course, students who have satisfied all the syllabus requirements are awarded a certificate by the awarding body, City & Guilds of London. We would like to offer our congratulations too!

Jill Bull

Jill's final assessment item was a set of four wall quilts each one responding to one of the elements. From left to right, Earth, Fire, Air and Water.

Left: the quilts in more detail showing the piecing and machine quilting.

The colours associated with each of the elements were collected and carefully put together.

Right: the quilting patterns really helped to emphasize the ideas behind each piece and was integral to the theme.

We love the dense directional quilting that completes each hanging.

Left: a close up showing some of the machine quilting.

Right: Some of the colour swatches that Jill collected to illustrate each element.

Left: Jill's first assessment piece, an applique cushion for a contemporary interior.
Right: Part of Jill's design work which was interpreted into hand applique with hand quilting.
