At the conclusion of our Online 7822 Patchwork and Quilting course, students who have satisfied all the syllabus requirements are awarded a certificate by the awarding body, City & Guilds of London. We would like to offer our congratulations too!
Jackie Newey
Jackie has been inspired by the faces of her family and friends for most of her design work, but this time takes a look at her own face! When the viewer stands close to Jackie's patchwork portrait they can see details of her family and friends, then standing back, the entire image comes into focus.


Below: Jackie's wallhanging celebrates the city of San Francisco and a family trip. Jackie has used shadow appliqué to trap the face images behind tulle, as well as bonded appliqué, hand and machine quilting and has added some slashing and blooming to create the flag.
