Diana's final assessment book was inspired by Blackwell House in the Lake District area of the UK. The building is in the Arts and Crafts style and was built around 1900. The exterior architecture, and interior decorative features provided a wealth of design sources to work from. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The final assessment was a zigzag folding book. Below: Di made a pencil sketch of the outside of the building. |

| A
beauty spot called King John's Castle was the starting point for Diana's
first Assessment piece. The ruined stonework and surrounding landscape were
the inspiration for this sketchbook. Diana was particularly interested in
how the natural landscape is reclaiming the ruined castle. Below: Collage and pastels are used to suggest texture. |
