I love working on paper just as much as I love fabric, maybe even more. Whether I'm making a book from loose papers, altering a charity shop find, or working in a conventional art shop bought sketchbook, for me, exploring ideas on paper is an essential part of the creative process. I can't think without a pencil in my hand, and I can't describe something to you without drawing it... If you told me that all my quilts were lost without trace, my sewing machine awol, my fabrics motheaten, then I'd get over it. If you told my my sketchbooks were missing, I'd be heartbroken.
