DesignMatters Online Courses
Here at DesignMatters we have offered a range of creative art and craft courses for over twelve years. We currently offer two subjects, Creative Quiltmaking and Creative Sketchbooks. DesignMatters was the first centre to offer City & Guilds creative courses using online delivery and continued to do so until 2013. We offer the opportunity for students all over the world to study with flexibility and convenience. All course content is devised and written by Linda and Laura Kemshall and is richly illustrated throughout with numerous examples, inspirational images and step by step technique photographs. Creative Sketchbooks also features video demonstrations of many processes.

Course materials are provided via a dedicated section of this website. The beauty of studying online is that the course materials are available all day, every day, ensuring that students can access the information they require at a time and place that suits their individual circumstances.

In addition to the detailed and illustrated instructional materials provided, students can also receive one-to-one advice and feedback from a DesignMatters tutor. Sending work to our tutors is easy - it's all done via email so there's no waiting on postal deliveries or worrying that work might get damaged or lost. All work is submitted for feedback as digital images attached to emails. Technical assistance on how to do this is provided in a 'Getting Started Guide' which is provided to all students upon enrolment. Essentially, if you can take a digital photograph or scan an image and send an email, then you have all of the technical skills required to send your work for feedback.

New for 2013
Students now have two options when enrolling for our online creative courses:

Option 1 - With Tutor Feedback
Places are strictly limited. At enrolment students are assigned a dedicated tutor from our team of experienced teachers. The tutor will provide advice and feedback upon completion of a module. The advice and feedback provided will be in the form of a detailed two-page evaluation sheet for every completed module. These sheets will help to form a detailed record of your achievement during the course.

Option 2 - Without Tutor Feedback
Choose this option to receive all the course materials, but no tutor advice or feedback (we're still on hand for technical assistance). We're able to offer this option at a reduced rate making our online courses more accessible to all than ever before.
