Crying in the Dark
Land of the Sun 93" x 81" £750 |
||||||
| Crying in the Dark Land of the Sun owes its name and some of its emotional content to the words of a Bob Dylan song. The darkly colourful palette and the strange oval shapes were suggested by studying the work of Hundertwasser. This quilt involves constructing the surface using separate sections which are only partially connected, fragmenting the conventions of traditional block piecing. | |||||||

| The image on the left shows how I have manipulated a detail of the original quilt on the computer to produce a new work in a different colourway. | |||||||
